The Fix: Our 3-Step Process
Step 1: Drill
Small access holes were carefully drilled into the affected sidewalk sections near the main entrance and along the south side of the building.
The placement of each hole allowed the crew to reach the empty spaces beneath the slabs and control how the concrete moved during lifting.
Step 2: Pump
High-density polyurethane foam was injected beneath the settled sidewalk panels.
As the material expanded, it filled voids, restored support, and gradually raised the concrete.
The crew carefully monitored the lift to improve the transitions between slabs and create better pitch for surface water.
Special attention was given to the low areas where water had been collecting. The goal was to improve drainage while keeping the walkway properly aligned with the entrance, parking area, and surrounding concrete.
Step 3: Patch
After the sidewalk sections were lifted and stabilized, the small access holes were patched with a durable concrete finish.
The repaired areas were cleaned and prepared for normal use.
Because polyurethane foam cures quickly, the office entrance did not require the long closure associated with concrete removal and replacement.
